parents visit & small group

My parents got to visit for a couple days last weekend. It was so wonderful to see them! We had a blast visiting family and just hanging out.
I also just have to say how much I love our young adult group. They are hilarious, loving and encouraging. My wish is for everyone to be a part of any kind of small group of 4-5 people that trusts, shares and encourages each other. It is a powerful time.

candles :)

we had our first saturday night gathering last night. 16 people were there!

it was great to spend one-on-one time with God, with no agenda, time limits, or structure.

we often spend hours at church talking about god, about god’s characteristics and what we can learn. we encourage people to spend time with God at home, developing that relationship.

and if we’re being honest, how often are we truly worshipping God when we sing and pray at church?

when we go through the motions, no one wins.

i pray this is a place where we won’t go through the motions.

bonfire last night

November 10 finally arrived! I came down with a cold this weekend so that slowed me down. But my team worked SO hard and everything was ready! We had a gorgeous fall evening. I was overwhelmed when I woke up this morning to hear pouring rain.

30 young adults showed up! We had fun hanging around the fire, playing ultimate frisbee, cornhole, listening to music, and enjoying each other’s company.

Our night was dampered somewhat when we got the news Ohio State lost. :( I’m still upset.

We moved inside later in the evening for coffee & hot chocolate. We watched a video about being a twentysomething. You can see it here.
